North Shore Chinese restaurant closes after ‘30 incredible years’

    Published on

A longtime Chinese restaurant on the North Shore has shuttered.

“After 30 incredible years, it’s with a heavy heart that we say goodbye,” Jade’s Restaurant in Peabody wrote in a Facebook post on Thursday, inviting customers to join them for the restaurant’s final weekend through Sunday, March 30.

“We’ve shared so many wonderful memories together — celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, family gatherings, and countless special moments with you all,“ the post reads. ”From the first bite of your favorite dish to the familiar faces we’ve come to know so well, it’s been an honor to be part of your lives.“

The post indicated that new management will continue to use the space in which Jade’s occupies. However, it did not specify what exactly was taking over the space.

“Thank you for being part of our journey,” the post concluded. “We’ll miss you!”

Jade’s Restaurant was known for its Chinese/American cuisine along with its Polynesian drinks. The restaurant was open seven days a week and offered catering.

“Been there 30 years — Many good times at the jades,“ a Facebook user commented on the restaurant’s post. ”Will miss Sonny’s Mai tai’s and the whole atmosphere — Cheers!”

“Thanks for all the years of great memories with friends and Sonny’s Mai Tai’s and PuPu platters and hot and sour soup,” another Facebook user wrote. “You will be greatly missed!”

The address for the now-closed Jade’s Restaurant is 4 Bourbon St., Peabody.
