    Gold House names 100 most influential AAPIs – AsAmNews

    Olympic gold medalist and swimmer Torri Huske, Wicked director Jon Chu and U.S. Senator Andy Kim (D-NJ) are among the more than 100 Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders named to the 8th annual Gold House A100 list.

    The nonprofit which champions narrative change released its honor roll of the most impactful Asian Pacific leaders on the morning of May 1, day 1 of Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

    Other notables selected include Auli’i Cravalho, Dwayne Johnson, Dave Derrick Jr. and Dana Ledoux Miller, the lead cast and directors of Moana 2 and Andrew Ahn, Anita Gou, Bowen Yang, Han Gi-Chan and Kelly Marie Tran, Lead Cast and creators of The Wedding Banquet.

    Also singled out in the entertainment field were R&B sensation Bruno Mars; Darren Criss and Helen Shen, lead actors of Broadway’s Maybe Happy Ending; David Henry Hwang and Daniel Dae Kim, playwright and lead actor of Broadway’s Yellow Face; and Abdullah Saeed, Asif Ali, Saagar Shaikh and Poorna Jagannathan, lead cast and creators of Hulu Boys Deli Boys.

    Sports & Gaming

    WNBA Champion owners Clara Wu Tsai and Joseph Tsai of the New York Liberty are the first Asian American owners to win a WNBA championship. World Series champions Dave Roberts, Shohei Ohtani, Tommy Edman and Yoshinobu Yamamoto of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Olympic gold medal golfer Lydia Ko also received a shout out. Roberts is the first Asian American manager to win a World Series ring. Shohei Ohtani is the second Japanese player to be named Most Valuable Player. Ichiro Suzuki is the first.
