    U.S., Japan to update command structure for smoother teamwork

    TOKYO — Japan and the U.S. are revising the command-and-control framework governing their defense forces to better coordinate in regional operations.

    Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and U.S. President Joe Biden will agree to the changes when they meet in Washington for a summit next Wednesday.
