The 1st Asian Cities’ Innovation Challenges is an event organized as part of the InCity Startup Weekend platform which is run by the Asian Mayors Forum (AMF). This initiative aims to harness the creativity and expertise of entrepreneurial and innovative citizens across Asia to tackle small and medium-scale challenges, the website of the event said.

The event will be held from April 24 to 26, 2024, in Tehran, Iran.

Creating an opportunity for the participation and convergence of Asian citizens in line with AMF motto, “Asia for Citizens, Integration for a Better Life”, has always been one of the most important pillars of this organization’s activity. Reaching this aim is possible through organizing participatory international events covering a wide range of activities and fields such as education, joint projects, research, introducing capacities etc.

Curbing urban pollution & emissions; Preparing for and responding to natural disasters; Mitigating the impacts of climate change; Conserving natural resources in urban settings; Managing waste and reducing consumption Maintaining and expanding green spaces and urban ecosystems; Saving energy and using renewable sources; Revitalizing public spaces; Restoring historical and cultural buildings; Preserving architectural and urban identity; Reviving urban cultural heritage Rehabilitating deteriorated areas; Organizing informal settlement are the main categories of the 1st Asian Cities’ Innovation Challenges in Tehran, according to its website.
