Stock Market Close Highlights | February 13, 2026: Dalal Street witnessed a bloodbath on Friday as bears took control of the market. Indian equities extended their downward spiral, fuelled by a persistent global tech rout that continued to weigh on heavyweight information technology (IT) stocks.
At close, the BSE Sensex plunged 1,048.16 points, or 1.25 per cent, to 82,626.76, while the NSE Nifty50 fell 336.1 points, or 1.30 per cent, to 25,471.1.
On the BSE, all stocks declined except Bajaj Finance and SBI, with HUL, Eicher Motors, Tata Steel, and Titan among the top laggards.
Among sectors, the Nifty Metal index led the losses, dropping over 3 per cent. Meanwhile, the Nifty IT index pared some earlier losses after falling more than 5 per cent, closing down 1.44 per cent.
In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap index slipped 1.71 per cent, and the Nifty SmallCap index fell 1.79 per cent. The India VIX, the volatility gauge, surged 15.18 per cent, reflecting heightened market uncertainty.
