WASHINGTON (7News) — 7News Reporter Joy Wang was awarded the prestigious 40 Under 40 Award by the Asian American Chamber of Commerce (AACC) Thursday night in Maryland.
The inaugural award honors 40 exceptional young entrepreneurs and professionals 40 forty who have made significant contributions to their industries and to the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities across the DMV region.
Wang was the first 7News reporter to spotlight AANHPI Heritage Month, featuring local businesses and covering essential community stories. Her reporting addressed topics from the need for more Asian grocery stores in the DMV to the rise in hate crimes.
The 40 Under 40 Awards Gala was held in North Bethesda, Maryland.
“These young professionals are not only excelling in their respective fields but are also paving the way for future generations, driving progress and fostering a spirit of collaboration and diversity,” event officials wrote.
