    Trump’s return to White House renews fears of Asian hate in U.S.

    NEW YORK — U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s impending return to office has raised concerns that anti-Asian discrimination will rise like it did during his first term, as his fraught relationship with China and rhetorical style shape public perceptions.

    Threats of mass deportations that would include Chinese people, strained ties with Beijing over trade and security, and spreading state legislation against Chinese nationals buying land could all contribute to Asian hate, Asian American and Chinese advocacy groups say.
