American man says Chinese car is the best EV you can’t buy

An American car lover says the Chinese-made Li Auto Mega minivan is ‘the best EV you can’t buy’.

Li Auto launched the futuristic-looking three-row Li Mega last year and has sold just over 10,000 units.

The car was built in China for the Chinese market and isn’t available to buy in the US.

But one American car enthusiast had one shipped over and was left seriously impressed by the minivan.

There are some interesting and impressive vehicles coming out of China at the moment, such as the Xiaomi SU7, which counts Ford CEO Jim Farley among its fans.

Li Auto is a relatively new name in the industry, as it was only founded in Beijing in 2015.

Up until last year, the company was best known for making EVs fitted with range-extender gas engines. But the Li Mega minivan is its first all-electric.

The minivan has a futuristic design that doesn’t just look cool – it also helps the EV be more aerodynamic.

YouTuber Auto Focus took the Li Auto Mega out for a drive around the US and was left impressed by what he found.

In fact, he claimed it was ‘the best EV you can’t buy’.

The EV left one American motorist very impressed

The Li Auto Mega is fitted with a 102.7 kWh battery that can produce up to 536HP and offers a range of around 350 miles (560km).

It’s also one of the fastest-charging EVs in the world and can go from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 10 minutes.

When Auto Focus took it out for a ride, he was bowled over by the minivan’s ‘magic carpet suspension’.

“I think it’s the softest, best riding air suspension I’ve ever driven,” he said.

“I’m thinking of things like the Rolls-Royce Spectre [or] the Maybach.”

Inside, the Li Mega has a couple of 15.7-inch OLED screens, extra comfortable heated seats, a small touchscreen on the steering wheel, and a 21-speaker system.

All in all, it’s an impressive bit of kit – it costs around $60,000 but, unfortunately, the minivan isn’t available in the US.

    Sorry about that.
