The Asian American Civics Scholars will raise money to buy new books for schools by hosting a Very Asian Youth Concert at the St. Louis Art Museum.
ST. LOUIS — Middle and high school students involved with the group Asian American Civics Scholars will host a special art and music program to raise money to add new books in area schools.
The group AACS is returning to the St. Louis Art Museum for an afternoon of music and dancing with a focus on traditional arts. It is a student-led event with talented musicians, artists, and dancers as part of the museum’s family day programming.
Many students will play traditional Chinese instruments while others will host art opportunities with younger kids. Last year was the first time the event took place at SLAM, and it was a big success thanks to the talented students.
Though the event is free, the students have been using this opportunity to raise money for The May Book Project, which is an Asian American youth literature project for all readers.
