NEW YORK — Hate speech and racial slurs against Asians and Asian Americans have surged online since Donald Trump was elected as U.S. president in November, according to a group monitoring xenophobic postings.

The American nonprofit group, Stop AAPI Hate, said the increase prompts serious concerns about the potential for rising racism and violence against people of Asian descent in the U.S. for the rest of Trump’s presidency.
