In observance of AAPI Heritage Month, on Wednesday, May 15, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Dr. Dana Nakano, a fourth-generation Japanese American from Orange County, will discuss “Enduring Patterns of Anti-Asian Sentiment” at Pacific Oaks College.

Nakano, a sociology professor at CSU Stanislaus, recently published a book, “Japanese Americans and the Racial Uniform: Citizenship, Belonging, and the Limits of Assimilation.” Last year he contributed an article, “Patterns of Hate in Asian American History” to the special “Stop Asian Hate” edition of The Rafu Shimpo.

Pacific Oaks College is located at 45 Eureka St., Pasadena.

The event includes lunch. Contact Pam Tajima Praeger at pamtajimapraeger47@gmail.com to receive an RSVP link.
