Family of Hannah Kobayashi says she’s been found – AsAmNews

    Published on

The family of Hannah Kobayashi today released a statement declaring the Maui woman missing since November 8 had been found.

“We are incredibly relieved and grateful that Hannah has been found safe. This past month has been an unimaginable ordeal for our family, and we kindly ask for privacy as we take the time to heal and process everything we have been through. We want to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported us during this difficult time. Your kindness and concern have meant the world to us,” Hanna’s mother Brandi Yee and her sister Sydney Kobayashi said in a statement sent through their attorney.

No further details have been released and police have not released further details.

Los Angeles Police just nine days ago reported that surveillance video taken at the California Mexico border showed the missing woman walking into Mexico. Earlier they said she had voluntarily missed her connecting flight from Los Angeles to New York.

The statement angered the family and accused police investigators with not communicating with them.

A few days after police spoke about the video Los Angeles Magazine reported Hannah may have gotten involved in a scam marriage as part of some immigration scheme.

The family had become increasingly angry with police and had hired their own private investigator.

Earlier, Hannah’s father, Ryan Kobayashi, had been found dead in Los Angeles in an apparent suicide.
