(FOX40.COM) — In celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, FOX40.com is sharing stories that honor the history and cultures that make up the AAPI community.

Rowena Shaddox takes us to the Filipino American National Historical Society Museum, which highlights the history of Filipino Americans and pays tribute to an icon of Filipino migrants.

Monica De Anda introduces us to Hmong Youth and Parents United, a group working to improve the lives of some of the Hmong community’s most vulnerable while celebrating and preserving their language and culture.

Sonseeahray Tonsall hears from two Filipino and Black artists who are making a space for their work within the community.

After opening the 1810 Gallery in Sacramento, the artists are now featuring their art at the annual AAPI Night Market hosted by The Sacramento Asian-Pacific Chamber of Commerce.
