BOSTON–The Asian Community Fund (ACF) at the Boston Foundation will honor Geeta Aiyer as AAPI Champion at it gala on Oct. 3, 2024 in Boston.

The Asian Community Fund is the first and only philanthropic fund in Massachusetts dedicated to galvanizing, convening, and supporting the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community.

On Thursday, Oct. 3, over 400 community leaders and supporters will gather together at the Westin Copley Place for the Asian Community Fund’s Inaugural Gala to celebrate AAPI
    leadership, partnership, and solidarity.

This year’s Gala co-chaired by Renee Inomata and Raj Sharma will honor Ms. Aiyer as a champion of the AAPI community.

Ms. Aiyer is founder and president of Boston Common Asset Management, a woman-led,
employee-owned sustainable investment firm with nearly $5 billion in assets under
management. The firm prioritizes investment in climate change mitigation and uses shareholder engagement to push portfolio companies toward more sustainable business practices.

TIME Magazine recognized Ms. Aiyer in their inaugural TIME100 Climate list, featuring the world’s 100 most innovative leaders driving business to advance climate action. Throughout her career, Ms. Aiyer has demonstrated an extraordinary dedication to advancing social and environmental justice, innovation, and corporate social responsibility. In addition to her impressive business accomplishments, her long-standing activism working to amplify
women leaders and combat gender-based violence both within the local and international AAPI community inspires many to give back in meaningful ways.

“ACF strives to unify the diverse ethnicities within our community, incubate new partnerships, and strengthen our collective advocacy voice. ACF is slated to exceed over $1,000,000 in cumulative grantmaking to Asian-serving community nonprofits in Massachusetts,” said Anu Chitrapu who along with Paul Lee serves as Co-Chair of the campaign committee for the Asian Community Fund. “We invite you to attend our inaugural gala and join us in our mission of amplifying Asian voices and leaders.”

Since its inception in 2020, the Asian Community Fund has convened thousands of AAPI
residents and allies across the state, built capacity by mobilizing over $6 million for the local AAPI nonprofit and business community, and catalyzed vital coalitions including the Asian Business Empowerment Council, the AAPI Arts and Culture Network, and the AAPI Mental Health Collaborative.
