Rohto Pharmaceutical has entered a strategic partnership with Hong Kong’s Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises, giving its Asian healthcare expansion a new institutional platform. The company announced the agreement on October 23, 2026, in an official Rohto release.

Hong Kong partnership expands options

Rohto said it became the first Japanese company selected as a strategic corporate partner by OASES. The Hong Kong government program is designed to support companies entering the market and expanding operations while developing the city as a hub for innovation, research and development, and business in Asia.

Local healthcare platform gains focus

Rohto intends to position Hong Kong as a future strategic business and co-creation base. The group said it will work with local partners and communities on health and longevity challenges, with the aim of developing activities in Asia and extending successful initiatives internationally.

The company already operates Rohto Advanced Research Hong Kong, established in 2019. The subsidiary works on regenerative medicine and supports clinical research, development and approval activities involving ophthalmology, dermatology, orthopedics, medical devices and next-generation pharmaceuticals.
