Jollibee is living up to its tagline, “Bida Ang Saya” or “happiness is first,” amid wildfires that have displaced thousands of Los Angeles residents and businesses this past week.
A viral TikTok seemingly showed Jollibee employees serving meals, Bilyonaryo reported, to volunteers and victims of brutal wildfires that ravaged Pacific Palisades and Eaton.
Many social media users expressed their praise and gratitude toward the beloved Filipino fast-food chain and its home country.
However, a few have criticized Jollibee for failing to show the same support when natural disasters hit the Philippines, according to Al Bawaba .
“Imagine Jollibee won’t bat an eyelash to fire victims in their own country not even floods would make them pull this…” one X user said.
The company has assisted typhoon and flooding victims, however, as well as undernourished schoolchildren through its FoodAID Program . It delivered over a million meals in 2022 during the COVID-19 pandemic and after Tropical Storm Agaton in the Philippines.
