North Shore Chinese restaurant reverses on closing: ‘Your support is what keeps us going’

    Published on

A longtime Chinese restaurant on the North Shore that previously said it was closing has decided to stay open.

“We’re excited to share that we will be STAYING OPEN indefinitely, and we look forward to serving you,” Jade’s Restaurant in Peabody wrote in Facebook post Sunday.

“Your support is what keeps us going, and we can’t wait to continue sharing our family’s recipes with you all,” the post reads. “See you soon!”

Jade’s previously said that the restaurant would be closing after “30 incredible years” at the end of March.

“We’re sad to close this chapter as new management will continue to operate,” the restaurant wrote in a Facebook post on March 27. “Please join us for our last weekend to celebrate these beautiful memories. Thank you for being part of our journey — we’ll miss you!”

Jade’s Restaurant is known for its Chinese/American cuisine along with its Polynesian drinks. The restaurant is open seven days a week and offered catering.

Patrons rejoiced at the news of Jade’s staying open on Facebook.

“I’m so happy you all are going to stay,” one Facebook user commented.

“You guys have been part of so much in our lives from Birthday parties, to Anniversary Parties, for bowling parties, Christmas Eve dinners to New Years Eve. Hell we get your hot & sour soups to go when we’re sick,” they wrote. “I have to say when we were taking care of my mom, your place was our go to on Friday nights as a break for a few hours for some food.”

The address for Jade’s Restaurant is 4 Bourbon St., Peabody.
