Panda Inn Review: Remodel Breathes New Life Into 51-Year-Old Restaurant

    Published on

The iconic Panda Inn has been a fixture of Pasadena for the entirety of my life. Its Chinese American dishes, even in my childhood, remained consistent; the space ideal for large family gatherings. Since its 2024 remodel, which included a revamped menu, new life has been poured into the seminal restaurant that inspired a fast-food dynasty. Go for the classics, stay for the glamorous venue; easy, seamless service; and surprisingly in-depth sushi menu with tangy sashimi preparations that act as palate openers before the main event.

Post-remodel, Panda Inn delivers a throwback glamorous vibe where you can feel comfortable dressing up or down. There are numerous private booths with wooden carved details, romantic lighting, and East Asian–inspired murals. Private rooms are also available for booking.

You can purchase the beloved colorful foil-wrapped white chocolate-dipped fortune cookies for $10 a dozen — just head to the hostess stand or ask your server.

At Panda Inn, the variety of delicious entrees celebrates the remarkable history and authentic taste of China’s regional flavors.
