On Wednesday, Indian benchmark equity indices reached lifetime highs for the fifth consecutive session, driven by gains in major financial and energy stocks, while small-cap stocks fell for the second day in a row.
The Nifty 50 rebounded in the last hour of trading to close 0.25% higher at 26,004 points, while the BSE Sensex increased by 0.3% to 85,169, both achieving all-time highs. Earlier in the day, both indices had seen declines of up to 0.2%.
