Sightlines Saturday Panel: Intergenerational Community Leadership

    Published on

Experience Sightlines: Chinatown and Beyond, an exhibition showcasing the historical, cultural, and creative connections of Asian Americans to Washington, D.C. And join us every second Saturday of the month for Sightlines Saturdays!

For decades, Washington, D.C., has been a hub for Asian American leadership at the local, national, and global levels. This month’s feature program–Across the Ages: Intergenerational Community Leadership–highlights the stories of organizers who have shaped and continue to shape their communities in different ways. Featured speakers will share their journeys as leaders and engage in a moderated discussion. Exploring how leadership and advocacy have evolved across generations, speakers will demonstrate the many forms of leadership–through neighborhood organizing, labor rights advocacy, and elected office.

    Speakers:

Gregory Allan Datu Cendana (President and Co-Founder, Can’t Stop! Won’t Stop!)

    Shani Shih (Chinatown Art Studio)

Kelly Su (Cornell University; East Coast Asian American Student Union)

Moderator: Tony Sarmiento (Sightlines Exhibition Advisory Committee)
