While there’s plenty of complex dishes you can order out, something as straightforward as meat, vegetables and rice can be so satisfying.
Chinese food has long been a staple of ordering out. Every town seems to have at least one spot to get fried rice for stir-fried beef. The question is whether to get a combination platter, or the full-sized meals.
Whether you’re someone who tries to save their some of their dinner for the next day, or if you eat it in one sitting, we’d like to know which Chinese restaurant is your favorite.
Take our poll with just some of the Chinese take-out spots and dine-in restaurants in eastern Connecticut. The poll closes on Dec. 15.
China Garden, 1074 North Main Street, Dayville
Located a short distance away from the Killingly Commons, China Garden is conveniently located for shoppers to stop in for a bite. It has the common Chinese take out dishes, plus a health food menu.
The newest restaurant on the list, EL Calenton Chino offers Chinese Food with a Puerto Rican twist. Sometimes it’s a unique take on a take-out favorite, like Lo Mein, to Puerto Rican dishes, like Mofongo.

With a bar and a stylish dining room, Golden Palace Chinese Restaurant in Uncasville offers Authentic Chinese dishes, like Peking Duck and Chilled Jelly Fish, and Chinese American dishes, like Sichuan Pepper Chicken and Dragon & Phoenix, along with Dim Sum and Banquet Menus for special occasions.
Infinity Palace Chinese Buffet, 77 Salem Tpke., Suite 115, Norwich

King Wah Chinese Restaurant, 276 West Main Street, Norwich
Modestly Priced and cooked quickly, King Wah’s options cover all the take-out staples, from Beef and Broccoli and General Tso’s Chicken, to Crab Rangoon and Fried Scallops.
Mei’s Kitchen, 461 Voluntown Road, Griswold
Mei’s Kitchen offers both Chinese dishes, like Moo Shu and Chow Mein, and Thai dishes, like Thai Basil and Curry. Mei’s also offers a sizable vegetarian menu. The restaurant’s website prominently features pictures of each item on the menu.
New Hong Kong Star, 69 Lathrop Road, Plainfield
People in in Plainfield will have the opportunity to go to a Chinese restaurant on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. New Hong Kong Star on Lathrop Road in Plainfield will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on both days.
