The family of Hannah Kobayashi says she is now safe and back in the United States after she was discovered in Mexico, reports ABC7.

The aspiring photographer grabbed international attention when she disappeared while on her way to New York from Maui after missing a connecting flight in Los Angeles.

Custom and Border Protection confirmed to the Los Angeles Police Department that over the weekend, Kobayashi came to the border and “presented herself for entry into the United States,” according to People.

They also described her as being in good health and “did not appear to be under any distress.”

The Los Angeles Police Department says the case is now closed.
