The company implemented a water treatment solution for KFC Indonesia to enhance food safety and operational efficiency.

ANGEL Group won China Technology Excellence Award for Sustainable Tech – Food & Beverage in the Asian Technology Excellence Awards 2026 for its commercial water treatment project with KFC Indonesia.

The company designed a flexible commercial water treatment programme that integrates with existing pre-filtration systems in fast-food outlets across the country, enhancing food safety and operational efficiency, and demonstrating how a water filtration solution can support sustainable growth in the food service industry.

Municipal water conditions vary significantly across different regions in Southeast Asia, creating operational challenges for international restaurant chains. To tackle this, the company conducted on-site water quality assessments and deployed tailored water purification configurations. Outlets with heavy particle levels received specialised filtration systems alongside UV-sterilisation units, whilst locations with stable water relied on targeted sterilisation alone. This scenario-based approach helped maintain high hygienic standards without forcing restaurants to replace their entire infrastructure.

The modular setup reduced material consumption, installation waste, and maintenance costs whilst extending the working lifespan of downstream beverage equipment. Currently deployed across hundreds of restaurant branches, the solution supports consistent food & beverage quality and seamless operational performance during peak business hours.

“Water quality consistency is critical for our daily operations, especially during peak hours. The flexibility of the solution made it easier for us to maintain standards without changing our existing setup,” a store operations representative said.
