Texas Taekwondo family saves woman from sexual assault attempt – AsAmNews

A family of Taekwondo instructors in Texas helped save a woman from sexual assault.

According to CNN, on Wednesday, Simon An and his family heard screaming from a store next to their taekwondo studio in Katy, Texas. Five family members rushed next door and found a man attempting to sexually assault a woman.

“I saw a man on top of a woman and the woman was on the ground,” 22-year-old Hannah An told KHOU 11.

The family’s father Han An, a taekwondo grandmaster, managed to restrain the man while they waited for law enforcement to arrive, NBC News reports. Simon An said he is grateful their martial arts training was helpful.

“You wouldn’t really expect it in an everyday situation, but when the time comes, it’s very valuable,” he told KHOU 11.
