    Asian stocks mostly higher as tech rally offsets oil and yield pressure — TradingView News

    Asian stock markets mostly advanced on Tuesday, following overnight gains on Wall Street, where a rally in major technology shares offset headwinds from elevated oil prices and rising bond yields.

    U.S. equity futures pointed to a stable open, with Dow, S&P 500, and Nasdaq 100 futures all ticking modestly higher.

    In commodities, WTI crude traded near $89 per barrel, while spot gold held just below $4,150 an ounce.

    South Korea’s KOSPI fell 1.30% and edged down to around 6,970, reversing gains from the previous session. Official data showed South Korea’s foreign exchange reserves shrank to $440.6 billion at the end of September 2026 from $442.3 billion in August, breaking a three-month streak of expansion.

    Japan’s Nikkei 225 JPN225 rose 0.74% to above 70,200, scaling three-month highs. Meanwhile, the Japanese yen was little changed around 157.9 per dollar.

    On the corporate front, Toyota Motor Corp. reported stronger-than-expected early demand across Japan and Southeast Asia for its new Land Cruiser FJ, a key model in its defense against growing market competition from Chinese automakers.

    China’s 000001 markets closed. Mainland Chinese markets remained closed for the Golden Week holiday, with trading scheduled to resume Thursday.

    Hong Kong HSI rose 0.66% to 24,240. The S&P Global Hong Kong SAR PMI dipped to 49.2 in September 2026 from 49.1 in August, registering a second consecutive month in contraction territory.

    India SENSEX rose 0.40% to 72,606. The Indian rupee weakened to around 96.4 per dollar.

    Australia AU200AUD shares rose 0.54% to 8,725, marking a third straight gain. Concurrently, the Australian dollar held its recent gains near $0.70. On the macro front, Australia’s Westpac–Melbourne Institute Consumer Sentiment Index dropped 4.7% month-over-month to a six-month low of 80.4 in October, representing a second month of decline.
